FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Dong Jianhua's "Across" poster is a groundbreaking endeavor to digitally protect and spread the ancient rock paintings of Holan Mountain. Using lenticular material, the poster showcases the original and modern motifs, symbolizing the revival of an ancient civilization through a contemporary lens. The festival aims to bring awareness to the disappearing cultural heritage and its contemporary value.
The poster, measuring 1855mm*30mm*465mm, utilizes raster material to express the theme of "across" and the renewal of an ancient civilization. Additionally, a special texture resembling rock is achieved through a unique painting technique using ink, tea, gelatine, and gold powder.
The project, which began in Hangzhou in March 2021, will be presented in Helan Mountain, Ningxia in May 2021. The festival's objective is to modernize and digitally conserve the endangered ancient rock paintings of the Holan Mountains, successfully making more people aware of the culture through a digital art festival.
