Mutian Yu's Mr. Baldie: A Unique Combination of Cookies and Chocolate

Mutian Yu, an industrial designer finishing his M.F.A project at the Savannah College of Art and Design, has been awarded the Bronze A' Design Award for his innovative cookie packaging design, Mr. Baldie. This unique packaging combines cookies and chocolate in a fun and interactive way, offering three delicious flavors: strawberry, mocha, and original.

Mr. Baldie stands out with its interactive design, allowing consumers to personalize the face-shaped cookies by adding their own "hair" using the included chocolate sauce. This creative approach adds an element of fun and customization to the snacking experience, making it more than just a simple indulgence.

Constructed using tinplate, the packaging measures 310mm * 310mm * 60mm, providing ample space for the delightful treats. The design process took three months and was completed in June 2020 in Savannah, USA. Yu's inspiration for Mr. Baldie stemmed from the emotional aspects of snacking, aiming to create a product that enhances the snacking experience beyond just flavor.

With a track record of winning world-class design awards, including the reddot design award, iF design award, and K-Design award, Mutian Yu is known for his passion for creating intuitive products that focus on user behaviors. His designs aim to bring smiles to people's faces, emphasizing that technology enables people to live well, but designs enable people to live with a smile.
