Yunlai: Handmade Glass Tea Cup by Liu Siyu

Renowned designer Liu Siyu unveils the Yunlai tea cup, a stunning blend of art and functionality. Inspired by the natural cloud formations in the Northern Hemisphere, this exquisite piece is a testament to the fusion of traditional craftsmanship and modern design.

Handcrafted using heat-resistant glass and employing extra-thick glass-frit and high-temperature sandblasting technology, the Yunlai cup boasts a unique design that mimics the flowing cloud lines found in the mid-latitude inland of the Northern Hemisphere. Its ergonomic shape ensures a comfortable grip, making it suitable for various beverages, including traditional Kung Fu tea.

The Yunlai project commenced in Guangzhou, China, in January 2020, culminating in its exhibition and online release in September 2020. The cup's ethereal beauty and cultural significance have earned it the Bronze A' Design Award in Fine Arts and Art Installation Design in 2021.
