The Mi Bluetooth Headset Mini stands out with its minimalistic design, featuring only a circular button on the shell. The packaging, however, transforms the oval shape into a head and the button into an open mouth, creating the image of a composer passionately singing or conducting an orchestra. This innovative approach gives voice to an otherwise low-profile product, highlighting its design element and making it more appealing to consumers.
Utilizing a combination of PET tray and paper cover, the packaging structure cleverly hides the wires, showcasing only the handset and controller. The design team, led by Design Director Lu Chen, Packaging Designer Yan Ni, and Packaging Structure Designer Zhizhuang Song, successfully realized this unique and engaging packaging concept.
The Mi Bluetooth Headset Mini measures 79mm in height, 110mm in length, and 28mm in width, offering a compact and stylish solution for consumers seeking a blend of form and function in their electronic accessories.
Designed to resonate with the younger demographic, the Mi Bluetooth Headset Mini encapsulates the spirit of the young generation's love for animation, comics, and games. By infusing the product with personality and visual appeal, Xiaomi has created a standout offering in the sports headset market, targeting the lower end of the segment with a retail price of 10 Euro in China.
The project, which commenced in April 2018 and concluded in April 2019 in Beijing, China, was driven by the goal of adding attractive elements to the packaging while working within a limited budget. The design team overcame the challenge of aligning the product with the trends of young culture, ensuring that the Mi Bluetooth Headset Mini resonates with its target audience.
