The Accademia of Perugia reveals a robust brand system and campaign designed by Paul Robb, Creative Director and Type designer, in collaboration with the institution's staff and students, aiming to create an energetic, robust, and positive identity system that works across different arts.

A new visual identity for the Accademia of Perugia has been unveiled, designed by Paul Robb in collaboration with the institution's staff and students. The project aimed to create a unified kinetic brand identity and architecture that also gave individuality to the single courses. The design features a classical-inspired logo, bespoke typeface, and a dynamic use of images throughout print and digital media.
The Accademia of Perugia, in its desire to move quickly into the future, sought a brand identity that reflected its aspirations. The resulting brand system and campaign are characterized by an energetic and positive identity that avoids typical clichés and conventions, working across different arts.
The campaign's interaction spanned traditional outdoor and online social campaigns, utilizing motion graphics to create a wide palette of still images. The material was utilized in both digital and print formats, with a focus on online and outdoor campaigns.
Paul Robb, a Creative Director with over 30 years of experience, led the design effort, with Tommaso Calderini contributing to animation and type. The project, which took place from June to October in Perugia, Italy, faced challenges in creating a non-3D effect in the rendering and achieving the desired movement in the outdoor experience.
The design was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2021, recognizing its outstanding expertise, innovation, and remarkable level of excellence in graphics, illustration, and visual communication.
