Yan Garden: A Creative Park Celebrating Heritage and Art in Dongguan

A creative park, Yan Garden, spanning 30,873 square meters in Dongguan, China, is a unique microcosm of the remarkable social and economic transformation of China. It celebrates the philanthropic work of Mr. Wong Kam Fai, also known as Uncle Fai, and promotes the history and art of Dongguan.

The project, led by Vicky Chan, features art studios in a revitalized hotel, a community hub with family exhibitions in a preserved mansion, and a new museum dedicated to promoting edutainment. The park links the past, present, and future, offering a space for creativity and history.

The project, realized in three phases, incorporates sustainable development practices, including microclimate utilization and natural ventilation. It has added biodiversity with 150 local plant species and has successfully attracted wild animals to the area.

Yan Garden, winner of the Bronze A' Design Award for Landscape Planning and Garden Design in 2021, is a testament to the fusion of heritage, art, and sustainability.
