Guangpeng Yue introduces Scarecrow, a groundbreaking plant protection drone designed to combat the global locust plague. Inspired by the organic form of branches, the Scarecrow features an integrated streamline form for efficient functionality.
The Scarecrow stands out with its program-controlled plant protection operations, self-charging capability through wind energy, and an 8-axis redundant design with adaptive power protection algorithm. Equipped with a sound system to disperse birds using recorded bird screams, it safeguards farmland while preserving bird populations.
The Scarecrow's advanced technology includes 8-axis redundant design, adaptive power protection algorithm, and pesticide spraying control technology. Its construction involves carbon fiber high-temperature molding, 3D printed titanium alloy, and injection molding processes.
Measuring 1200mm in length, 400mm in width, and with a shaft diameter of 343mm, the Scarecrow is a testament to innovation in plant protection, pesticide spraying, drones, automation, and hunger reduction.
Guangpeng Yue led a dedicated team including Fengze Li, Hang Yin, Lin Xia, Hongbo Ren, Ziming Yang, Haitao Yuan, Siyu Ding, Mengyao Gao, Zhiyuan Guo, Yingyi Li, Jiayang Zhang, Huaidong Yang, Xi Zhu, and Jing Wang to bring the Scarecrow to life.
The Scarecrow operates through a set program to automatically complete plant protection operations and utilizes its data cloud and GPS for accurate location tracking. After completing operations, it self-charges by collecting wind energy from its rotor.
The project commenced in Shenyang, Liaoning Province in September 2020 and concluded in December 2020. The Scarecrow's design is underpinned by extensive research, incorporating an 8-axis redundant design and adaptive power protection algorithm to ensure safe flight even in the event of axis failure.
