Eduardo Guizar Vukovich unveils the flexible and functional graphic identity for the "The Ancient Mexicans" exhibition at the Museum of the Northeast in Mexico, MUNE.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Eduardo Guizar Vukovich has designed a new graphic identity that is flexible and functional, aiming to attract the public to the exhibition of Ancient Mexicans at the Museum of the Northeast in Mexico, MUNE. The exhibition showcases Mexican pre-Hispanic cultures and offers information design within the exhibition to enhance the user experience and promote knowledge of pre-Hispanic cultures in the Northeast of the country through graphic design.
For the graphic identity, a grid created from the concept of Constellations was used, considering that the stars when they come together generate new figures. Different shapes were placed and organized points, generating a square. The exhibition features 466 pieces divided within the exhibition in cultures and themes, with two pieces selected from each culture and theme for the graphic identity.
The graphic elements were designed based on the search for representation of each culture and theme, with an emphasis on flexibility. A series of patterns were generated from the graphic elements, formed through reflection and repetition of one of the graphic elements, with each pattern working as a module and system, varying usage depending on the application.
The design for the exhibition will be permanently at the Museo del Noreste (MUNE), in Monterrey Nuevo León, Mexico. The project was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2024, recognizing its outstanding expertise and innovation in cultural heritage and culture industry design.
