Natalya Bilousova's 1045 Coffee Beans packaging, inspired by Calgary's elevation and crafted for local coffee enthusiasts, has earned the Bronze A' Packaging Design Award 2025 for its unique blend of artistry, functionality, and regional pride, setting a new standard in coffee branding.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
1045 Coffee Beans, designed by Natalya Bilousova, has been honored with the Bronze A' Packaging Design Award 2025, recognizing its exceptional approach to coffee packaging. Drawing inspiration from Calgary's elevation of 1045 meters, the design forges a strong connection to the city's bold character while avoiding conventional mountain imagery. Instead, Bilousova's diamond-shaped logo and bold "1045" numerals, paired with perspective lines, evoke both the essence of mountains and the structured rows of coffee fields, creating a memorable and original visual identity.
The packaging features a calm, earthy color palette that mirrors the rich tones of coffee, with each origin distinguished by two shades-darker for espresso and lighter for filter blends. Classic black coffee bags provide a timeless backdrop, while high-quality sticker labels allow for efficient production and easy differentiation between blends. This thoughtful combination of materials and design elements ensures both practicality and a premium shelf presence, appealing to devoted coffee aficionados and newcomers alike.
Developed in Calgary from May to August 2024, the project began with extensive market research and consumer analysis, ensuring the final product would resonate with local values and preferences. The result is packaging that not only communicates the quality and craftsmanship of 1045 Coffee Beans but also celebrates Calgary's unique culture and spirit. The award from A' Design recognizes the project's creative ingenuity, technical excellence, and its contribution to elevating the standards of packaging design in the coffee industry.
