Abra Mode, a pantyhose box designed by Sajad Izadi, has captured the spotlight by winning the Iron A' Packaging Design Award 2025. Developed in Tehran between June and October 2023, the packaging stands out for its innovative use of a window shaped like a woman's crossed legs-a nod to the elegance and posture often seen at gatherings and in fashion photography. This distinctive feature not only serves as a visual identity for the brand but also allows customers to see and feel the product's color, fabric, and texture without opening the box.
The design addresses common challenges in hosiery packaging, such as product exposure to dust and damage, by fully enclosing the pantyhose while still providing product visibility. The box is crafted from recyclable cardboard with a matte, water-based coating in cream and gold, evoking a sense of luxury and softness while ensuring environmental responsibility. The window, created using a custom mold, highlights the product's quality and eliminates the need for separate packaging for different colors or designs, offering flexibility for future product line expansions.
Izadi's approach was rooted in thorough market research and a deep understanding of the needs of fashion-conscious women. By moving away from traditional tag or hanger packaging, Abra Mode offers a tangible, premium experience that is both practical and visually appealing. The design's adaptability allows the brand to extend its visual identity to other apparel items, such as skirts or shirts, by simply altering the window shape. This thoughtful integration of form, function, and brand storytelling has set a new standard in fashion packaging within the Iranian market.
