Mingxi Li and team from Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts have unveiled the Savior, an all-terrain modular rescue robot designed to revolutionize disaster response by overcoming the limitations of traditional rescue equipment, earning the Bronze A' Futuristic Design Award in 2025 for its innovative approach to efficiency and adaptability.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Savior rescue robot, developed by Mingxi Li and a multidisciplinary team at Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts, addresses the urgent need for rapid and adaptive disaster response solutions. Traditional rescue methods often struggle with difficult terrain and environmental hazards, leading to critical delays. Savior's design leverages advanced LiDAR sensors, AI-driven autonomy, and a modular architecture to ensure swift and effective operations in disaster-stricken areas.
What sets Savior apart is its ability to automatically switch between wheels and feet, adapting seamlessly to various terrains. Its modular system allows operators to equip the robot with specialized rescue, medical, transportation, or communication modules based on mission requirements. The hydrogen-powered motor provides extended endurance, enabling prolonged missions without frequent refueling. AI integration empowers the robot to analyze mission data, plan optimal action paths, and operate autonomously, even in the most challenging environments.
Manufactured with precision robotics and advanced energy systems, Savior measures 1000mm in length, 996mm in width, and 428mm in height. The project, which began in March 2024 and concluded in June 2024, involved extensive research and development to balance durability, maneuverability, and AI stability. The design also incorporates a falcon-inspired drone for environmental monitoring, further enhancing its versatility. Recognized with the Bronze A' Futuristic Design Award, Savior exemplifies the integration of art, science, and technology to improve emergency response and save lives.
