Peng Guo and the Beijing Yamei Times Culture Media Co Ltd design team have set a new standard in live performance environments with their "Sunrise Version" stage for the Hua Chenyu Mars Concert. Inspired by the emotional bond between Hua Chenyu and his fans, as well as the artist's iconic song "Born to Be Wild," the stage design draws on mythological cityscapes and the harmony of nature to evoke a sense of wonder and exploration. The result is a visually stunning, futuristic "Martian civilization" that envelops audiences in an epic, interactive experience.
The stage's technical achievements are equally impressive. The main stage, spanning 106 meters in width and soaring to 28.5 meters in height, features five levels of performance space and ten movable platform mechanisms. A self-developed system of mirrored LED screens and mechanical elements enables dynamic transformations, while a 19-meter diameter "home stage" and a 30-meter extension bridge connect the audience with the performance. The entire venue is unified by a massive 100-meter circular structure, symbolizing the journey and connection between artist and fans, and enhancing the immersive atmosphere.
Safety and innovation were at the forefront throughout the design and construction process. The team conducted rigorous safety assessments, implemented real-time weather monitoring, and used fire-certified materials to ensure audience and performer well-being. The use of reflective and transparent materials, unconventional moving platforms, and a miniature four-sided layout not only broadened viewing angles but also enabled seamless stage transformations and interactive performances. The design's adaptability to weather and its high load-bearing capacity further highlight the technical mastery behind this acclaimed project.
