Azur Millesime: A Dance with the Universe in Sparkling Wine Packaging Design

Azur Millesime, designed by Ximena Ureta, is a premium sparkling wine packaging concept that merges art, movement, and the celestial beauty of Chile's Limari Valley. Created for Spumante Limari and unveiled at the Make a Mark Gallery in Monaco, this design pays tribute to the region's famously clear night skies, which are renowned for astronomical observation. The packaging features a woman dancing with the universe, her arms-symbolized by rotating lateral lines-carrying the sun and moon, all set in motion by a motorized base that transforms the bottle into a captivating kinetic display.

The design stands out for its innovative use of materials and technology. The glass bottle, custom-made by Estal, is adorned with labels crafted from Avery Dennison's premium materials and embellished with silver and gold foils to evoke the Limari sky. The closure system is a technical marvel, featuring a double muzzle and a rhodium-finished brass cap, while the intelligent label incorporates NFC technology for enhanced consumer engagement. The packaging's motion is complemented by specially composed music, further elevating the sensory experience and making Azur Millesime a true collector's piece.

Beyond its visual and technical achievements, Azur Millesime is a celebration of the natural heritage and winemaking excellence of the Limari Valley, which produced Chile's best sparkling wine in 2023. The interplay of transparency, light, and movement in the design mirrors the dance of celestial bodies, offering consumers an immersive and poetic connection to the terroir. The project's success at the Silver A' Design Award underscores its remarkable blend of creativity, craftsmanship, and emotional resonance in luxury packaging.
